All of our 254 guest rooms and suites offer all the comforts of home. Many of them offer spectacular views of the lakefront and of the sparkling city below. Accommodations come with some extra touches like our free coffee in the room, wireless Internet connection and more.

Our hotel shuttle bus is available to hotel guests, free of charge. It makes several stops along Michigan Avenue—as far north as the Water Tower Place. Stops also include Navy Pier and the Museum Campus.

Chicago’s Essex Inn is proud to serve guests with disabled and other special needs. To that end, the public spaces at Chicago’s Essex Inn are accessible and include, but are not limited to, ADA-compliant entrances to the hotel, valet parking in the hotel garage and accessible public restrooms.

In addition, there are a number of designated accessible guest rooms which include, but are not limited to, such accessible features as: grab bars in the showers; ADA-compliant sitting stools for showering; hand held shower spray wands; protected plumbing covers; ADA-compliant lavatory fixtures; lowered security “peep” holes on the doors; ADA-compliant door hardware; touch lamps; and TTY Kits for hearing & visual assistance.

The swimming pool and garden deck areas are also accessible and we provide such accessible features as ADA-compliant pool lift and Accessible Fitness Center with ADA Universal Gym.

In addition, there are accessible paths of travel to the restaurant located on the premises of the Essex Inn and the restaurant has accessible dining tables.

The Essex Inn is the only hotel in Chicago that offers a luxurious, rooftop swimming pool for year-round use in an architecturally stunning setting with magnificent views of Grant Park and Chicago's famous skyline. Adjacent to the pool and sauna is our 1,350 square foot Fitness Center, which has a large selection of cardio machines, weight-training equipment, CrossTrainers, Lifecycles, treadmills and free weights.

We have a new business center located on the main floor with all the professional necessities like high-speed Internet access, computer workstations, printers and more. We're also close to the McCormick Place Convention Center, so if you're coming in for a convention, the Essex Inn can meet all your needs.
